The Clothing Closet is the result of volunteers donating time and materials to make clothing, some small housewares, and appliances available at no charge. Having a free, community store enables families to use their limited resources on other necessities, such as housing and utility payments. This volunteer-based service is dependent on community partners, offering many wonderful volunteer and donation opportunities for individuals and groups.

Target

The Clothing Closet is open to all people who need to save money for life's basic needs by receiving free clothing and shoes. All individuals in need of necessities, toiletries, grooming items, clothing for men, women and children. With a focus on gently used school uniforms for children attending neighborhood public schools, business attire and baby clothing are also available.

Projected outcome of intervention

To make necessities available to all, especially single parents, the homeless and other transient individuals.
