Breaking the Walls of Addiction that keep lives bound

The Joshua 6 Ministry will begin its 2009 meetings on January 13th at 7pm. Held at North Park CME Church.

The meeting will be hosted by its Ministry Coordinator Rev. Wheatley Bell. We ask that all who are in need of receiving spiritual tools for obtaining and sustaining a life free of addiction come out and begin a new phase in your walk of recovery. Feel free to bring a loved one.

This timely and relevant ministry is named for the 6th chapter of the Old Testament book of Joshua, the story of the Wall of .Jericho when God miraculously and systematically delivered the walled city of Jericho into the hands of His chosen people (Israel)...Reminding us that sometimes God works a miracle all at once, other times brick by brick.

This ministry is concerned with the total recovery and support of those who have been plagued and victimized by life controlling problems. Many are subject to treatment programs, which they complete successfully only to be turned back into the world from which they came, with little or no resource to defend their victory. Like AA, NA and others Joshua 6 Ministries is a 12 step process of recovery and staying recovered although we uphold one step to Jesus is the victory.

Experience has taught me that when we learn and practice the 12 steps we become more than conquerors. We've learned by cause and effect; i.e. if we do this, we reap this. In our addictions we've learned the insanity of doing the same thing expecting different results. However, to learn this lesson and deal with it sufficiently, liberates us and allows us to manage our lives more effectively as we move closer to God's purpose for our lives. Joshua teaches biblical principles in support of continued recovery. It takes spiritual weapons to fight a spiritual foe.

"The Overcomers" teaching in the 90-day workbook "A Daily Choice" and The Life Recovery Bible are an IV to the spiritually depraved, and a daily checkpoint to monitor our strengths and weakness. When spirit and mind are renewed behavior changes and when behavior changes victory is imminent and thus we can move to the next level. (faith to faith and glory to glory)
